Participants practice newly acquired skills in safe settings through realistic exercises. The course ends with a discussion of strategies for responding to an active shooter. We provide participants with tools and resources to help them create an emergency plan.

Recognizing Dangers and Weaknesses:

Participants learn about possible hazards and weaknesses unique to church settings, such as access points, busy spots, and high-risk periods. There is also an emphasis on risk assessment and mitigation. To do this, you should create an emergency and crisis response plan.

Creating Plans for Emergency Reactions:

A section on developing and executing emergency response plans, including safe zones, evacuation routes, and communication strategies. In addition to procedures for reporting emergencies, the plan should provide contact information for relevant authorities. The final step is to review and update the plan to ensure its effectiveness.

Best Defense Strategies:

Participants receive instruction in helpful self-defense skills, such as making homemade weapons, blocking doors, and using calculated moves to avoid or face an active shooter. Additionally, they learn how to respond appropriately to an active shooter. They also learn about emergency preparedness.

Post-Event Rehabilitation and Assistance:

The training also covers post-event recovery to increase future readiness, including providing psychological support, restoring normality, and completing comprehensive incident evaluations. It emphasizes providing feedback to the organization and documenting the incident. The final point is about preparing for future incidents.

Mr. Logan was an excellent instructor, I will most definitely be attending his class again when it is time to renew my CPR card. My biggest take away was learning how to use my voice and be loud about what I'm doing while preforming CPR

Logan is an excellent instructor. Takes safety very seriously. The most important thing is to pause at the door and wait for four seconds. Breathe and get your thoughts together before you approach so you don’t make a mistake.

I learnt a lot that at this CPR Training that I would not be taught at other sessions such as using all senses to assess the risk of the situation, state your intents and actions out loud and to get specific names when assigning responsibilities such as calling 911 and retrieving the AED in order to get a detailed report of the situation and ensure roles are given out clearly. I really enjoyed the style of training and lessons given by the instructor.
